Interior decorator Vanessa Francis shares the process behind her daughter’s bathroom, which she designed and renovated for $5,000 in just six weeks. See inside the bold, beautiful space and learn how she stayed within her budget without making compromises to the decor.
Vanessa updated the builder-basic bathroom with a mixture of budget-friendly and high-end items. She updated the vanity with a fresh coat of paint and new hardware, and kept the original shower tiles. She splurged on marble hexagon tiles and a matte black faucet and shower system, which both help elevate the space. Bold wallpaper and art offer drama, and soft details like succulents and blush pink towels round out the decor. Watch the video to get Vanessa’s easy and budget-friendly tips on updating a bathroom.

Beautifull…i like everything. I love the wall paper but i'm a scare to install it in my bathroom. We love hot and long shower so all the walls are wet…not sure it will stay nice in my house. I will paint it!
Ummm🤔…..$5 GRAND IS CONSIDERED A BUDGET. DO YOU KNO WHAT BUDGET MEANS?… ASK GOOGLE YOU CAN FIND DEFINITIONS OF WORDS IN A SNAP. WHEN UR DONE YOU CAN CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS VIDEO.
$5,000.00!!!!! Oh my, no where near my budget. It is very nice though.
Gorgeous!!!
Can you do it less than 200?
Hi can u tell me which stencil you used on walls
The wallpaper is nice
5 thousand dollar bathroom "refresh" lmao
The people in the comments section are funny. 5k is a realistic bath reno budget especially considering these shows have homeowners who live in expensive prime real estate markets like Toronto or Vancouver. And I don't recall DIY being in title anywhere- $500 for a bathroom reno really? A home is an investment and how you treat your home's updates and renovations helps determine its value. A bad or cheap reno can cost you big time when its time to sell. This is an actual reno requiring actual trades people to install stuff and do demo and haul away. $500 Not gonna happen unless you are a professional carpenter, plumber, electrician and painter who does all their own labor- trades people don't work for cookies you know!
🤔🤔🤔Budget…. I guess she didn't specify high or low. I like it but I need lower budget. 😔🙈
hahaha $5K! I was hoping to spend $500
This is not my style, but dayum, I love it! Go, girl! Shwing!
I love what you did very pretty.
Why did this cost 5k and take 6 weeks? Am I missing something? Wallpaper on 1 wall, painted 1 vanity, and replaced some fixtures! I am in the wrong business lol
You did an awesome job!!! I love it!!
it looked so much better before.
$5000 could do my entire apartment 😏
Note! It is Bad Feng Shui to hang portrait inside a bathroom.
A beautiful art deco bathroom. Someone wanted to charge us $8500 to renovate a tiny bathroom, but unfortunately not in the budget. We just replaced the vanity and toilet. Then hire a professional cleaner for tub & tiles. Maybe DIY or hire someone else to replace grout for tiles & re-caulk tub.
Great bathroom. I have a rental and will try to stencil the wall behind the vanity and also paint my vanity to get a similar inexpensive look.
Amazing. where will I get the same stencil and what is the cost. Does it stick to the wall to prevent paint leak through. What type of paint we should use.. thanks
5k??!!!!and you on a budget!!??get out of here.
Did you mean $500.00? Because that would be a budget.
$5000.00 for a kids bathroom is being rich enough to just throw money around.
But I'm trying to understand how a couple new faucets and a piece of wallpaper came to 5 grand.
I could easily achieve the same look for someone for under $500.00
$5,000!!! What!!! lol
$5000 ?? That's some budget. Could have used porcelain flooring that resembled marble mosaics and install myself, could have stenciled the walls myself, and replace fixtures with much nicer ones even, for under $700.
Beautiful
Love this! You did a fantastic job!
Love the floor tiles so much! And I agree with art in the bathroom. (as an artist) I'm going to paint some artwork especially for the bathroom. 🙂
That's not on a budget btw 😉
5000 your crazy
love your taste of colours. nice staff
beautiful, but shower needs to get an update
beautiful, but shower needs to get an update
spending 5k is not on a budged 😀
WAS THAT WALL PAPER ON THE WA;; OR SKETCHING OFF OF A PATTERN ?
HELLO , I HAVE THE SAME FLOOR TILE ON MY BATHROOM FLOOR , DINGY COLOR , BOUGHT OLD HOUSE . I WOULD HAD LOVED HOW YOU PAINTED THE FLOOR , WHAT DID YOU USE ? I DONT PARTICULARLY LIKE THE BLACK STRIPES . WANT BATHROOM TO LOOK FREASH AND BIGGER AND BRIGHTER .
Love this, source for buying the wallpaper?
It is really nice, I love it
but I can completely replace everything for $5,000!
Awesome
I'm relieved that others are taken aback when hearing that the budget was $5000. I'm about to start a reno and although the plumbing will be staying as is, everything else has to go. Our contractor has quoted $5000.-$6000.
I have a few ideas that may actually keep the budget on track but allow for some splurges.
To the credit of this lady and her daughter, they did quite a nice job. Love the use of warm baby petal pink.
Cheers
Susan
good! it looks as beautiful as our self-adhesive 3d wall tiles.
sexy
Not really understanding where $5,000 went considering a lot of the original pieces were kept like the vanity, tub and shower tiles. Unless the faucet fixtures in the tub & sink ate up a lot of the budget. Nice bathroom just didn't understand those faint pink towels, that whack shower curtain which looked like a last minute item bc the real shower curtain wouldn't arrive from Amazon in time to record this episode and all of that 'art' on the walls. It's a bathroom not the living room. I didn't feel all of that art work was necessary or a photograph of the home owner's daughter.
Do you have to worry about the moisture and steam in a bathroom warping any artwork? Any guidelines for that?
I love the black and white. Very pretty.
