"Hey!" Um … yeah. I have sold handknotted rugs for a living. This is the most banal advice possible. I agree with Kitten Toez. A good laugh. A "modern" designer … with carpet???? First of all, you CAN put a rug on carpet. MANY people do so and it looks great (however, most designers I know do not have carpet). Also, although there really are NOT many important rules (like the front of the furniture being on the rug), you probably don't want to fill the whole room (5 inches off the walls????) Ā That is, unless you're working with a dining set and wish to keep the chairs on. Then anything under an 8 x 11 is NOT going to work at all.
That rug really ties the room together, man.
too many rules…and costly….forget it
although I've heard all on or all off, (furniture legs that is) I actually agree just front legs is fine, though the even boundary, I think, is unnecessary
Area rugs can work on carpet, I disagree with her.
Wow… didn't your mother ever teach you, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
I would like to add my professional note that rug pad is extremely important in your rug purchase not only to protect the surface under the rug but it actually prolongs your rug investment and rug pads are normally very reasonably priced.
