Inspired by the mythology surrounding the highly controversial 1980 film, CRUISING, starring Al Pacino – in which, 40 minutes of sexually explicit material was forced to be cut out – filmmakers James Franco and Travis Matthews set out to re-imagine the lost footage. Assembling a mix of gay and straight men, including Val Lauren (THE SALTON SEA, LIVE FROM BAGHDAD) in the lead role, the result is a provocative exploration of the importance of the radical and transgressive in society and the value of engaging with the unfamiliar.

Interior. Leather Bar.

this was very boring… I as a gay man who came out in 1980 in NYC cannot get over it… the movie was just plane old boring…and dumb… the bars on the west side were much more interesting than this film ever imagined…too bad they were never shot completely…but then…i loved them and had a wonderful time. its sad to know how many men have lost their lives…
cruising was an exaggeration of the fear there wasn't any at least not if you were really gay. I was and I am.
Awesome!
Digital video cameras didn't exist when Cruising was filmed. This movie just looks stupid.
Why is it, when I attempt to stream a Strand Releasing film, I have difficulty streaming the video?
